CHAO ZHAO

MA, Associate Marriage Family Therapist & Provisional Registered Art Therapist, supervised by Yasuno Yoshizawa, LMFT, ATR-BC

Why combine art and psychotherapy?

After graduating from Beijing University of Technology in Marketing and Management, Chao Zhao established a successful career in financial planning. Time after time, she witnessed her clients' emotional struggles that were preventing them from reaching their financial goals and found that reaching those goals did not bring them the happiness they had longed for. Therefore, she made a courageous decision to journey from the other side of the globe to California to look for meaningful ways to support her clients and others.

Chao Zhao found herself drawn to art therapy and psychology. In the process of exploring the power of art combined with psychotherapy, she received her Master of Arts degree in Marital and Family Therapy with specialized training in Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University. Chao Zhao has worked with children, youths, adults, and families to utilize art therapy in traditional talk therapy sessions to find their personal strengths, overcome difficulties in life, and develop better professional and personal relationships.

In this journey, she has witnessed countless magical and powerful healing moments in sessions with her clients, and through this process, she has experienced tremendous personal growth and fulfillment. She finds words hardly can express the healing power as a whole but she would like to share it with you!
